Jane’s Story
The Road to Formanized
Jane Forman started competing at age 10 and figured out pretty quickly that winning was fun. Really fun. She became a Rhode Island state champion, ranked top 3 in New England juniors, went undefeated in high school, and by 18 was the No. 1 women’s player in New England.
At Clemson, Jane turned that fire into one of the strongest careers in program history. She became a four-time NCAA All-American, competed on a full athletic scholarship, and left the kind of mark that eventually earned her a place in the Clemson Hall of Fame.
Then came the biggest stages in tennis. Jane turned pro and spent 10 years competing on the WTA Circuit, along with the USTA Pro Circuit, ITF events, Virginia Slims, and Grand Slam tournaments. She faced some of the best players in the world, including Tracy Austin, Pam Shriver, Andrea Jaeger, and Martina Navratilova on Wimbledon’s Centre Court.
When Jane stepped away from competing, she did not step away from the game. She took everything she had learned under pressure and poured it into coaching. Over the next 35+ years, she built programs, developed players at every level, and became known for instruction that changed how people played.
What made Jane different as a coach was the same thing that made her dangerous as a player. She saw the game before the point unfolded. The patterns. The positioning. The openings. The mistakes players made before they even knew they were in trouble.
That vision became the foundation of Team Forman Experience. High-level tennis made practical for league players, with plenty of laughs while Jane calls you out, fires you up, and gets you playing smarter. You learn where to stand, what to look for, when to attack, when to reset, and how to stop giving away points you should be winning.
You stop guessing and start making better decisions, every time.
