Is there ever a point in a match where you would tell both players to stay back on the baseline? My partner and I drop back when we keep getting lobbed. Is that right, or are we missing something?
There are many situations where you should both start back on the baseline. Because you're being lobbed is NOT one of them. LOL That's a breeding ground for a lob fest. You want to take those in the air. One good reason to be both back is if your partner is having trouble returning serve. Or if she or you keep hitting to the net person. Also if you check out return side tactics in the playbook there are a host of both back tactics.

The practical details, without the fine-print runaround.
What exactly is TFX?
It's Jane Forman's online coaching club for recreational players. Members get an active feed where Jane teaches and joins the discussion, a searchable Playbook of her coaching videos, live Open Court conversations, and ways to connect and compete with other members.
Is TFX completely online?
Yes. The club is fully online and works from your phone, tablet, or computer, wherever you are.
What level do I need to be?
There is no minimum, and there is nothing to pass on the way in. Jane coaches recreational players across the levels, and the Playbook is organized by situation rather than by rating, so you take what applies to your game and leave the rest. Ask her where you are stuck and she will meet you there.
What happens in the Feed?
It's where the club happens day to day. Jane posts coaching and answers Ask Jane questions, and members post match clips, photos, wins, losses, and the situations they are working through. Every post is open for comments.
What is in the Playbook?
Jane's coaching videos, organized by topic and searchable by situation: positioning, returns, poaching, lobs, shot selection, match breakdowns. It's where you go to study a specific problem before you play, not an archive you scroll past.
How much access to Jane do members get?
From the day you join, Jane is your coach. Ask her a question whenever it comes up, send her the match you cannot figure out, and tell her what happened; she is in the feed through the week and hosts live Open Court sessions where you talk with her out loud. She reads everything members post. On a busy week she may not reply to every single question, but nothing is gated behind office hours or a booking form.
What is Open Court?
Live audio rooms inside the club. Jane and members drop in for match debriefs, strategy talks, and questions answered out loud. Listen from the couch, or raise your hand and join the conversation.
What is the Club Championship?
A friendly monthly leaderboard. Members earn points for taking part in the club, standings reset at the start of each month, and the top finishers get recognized and sent a prize.
How does the free trial work?
You get the full club for 10 days without paying anything. We take a card when you join so nothing has to be re-entered later, but you are not charged until the free period ends, and we email you a few days before that first payment so it never arrives as a surprise. Cancel in a couple of clicks any time before then and you pay nothing at all.
What is the difference between monthly and annual?
The club is identical either way, and both start with the same 10 days free. The only difference is what happens after: monthly is $29 a month, annual is $290 a year, which works out to $24.17 a month and saves you $58.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Monthly is month to month, and both plans cancel in a couple of clicks from your account. No calls, no retention maze.
